Young Boy Struck and Injured by Vehicle near South Harbor Drive
OCEANSIDE, CA (November 3, 2018) – A 5-year-old boy was injured late Saturday evening following a pedestrian crash on North Pacific Street. His name and place of residence were not immediately shared with the public.
According to officers with the Oceanside Police Department, the incident took place at about 6:00 PM. For unknown reasons, the child was struck by a car near the intersection with South Harbor Drive.
The young victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Rady Children’s Hospital. There are no further updates on the child’s current medical condition. The man driving the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the events that led to the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. No arrests have been made, and neither drugs nor alcohol is believed to have played a role in the incident. Additional information will be released to the public once it becomes available.
