2 People Critical After 2-Vehicle Crash on 43rd Avenue in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (December 19, 2024) – A crash on 43rd Avenue and Thomas RoadThursday morning left five people injured, including two in critical condition. 

Phoenix first responders arrived at the scene at 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road around 8:30 a.m. 

Video footage from the AZFamily news drone shows two heavily damaged vehicles in the center of the intersection, which remains closed in all directions.

Phoenix Fire Department officials confirmed that five individuals were injured in the collision. Emergency crews used specialized equipment to rescue two people trapped in the wreckage.

Two adults were transported to the hospital in critical condition, while two additional adults and a six-year-old child were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities have not indicated how long the intersection will remain closed. Updates on the situation are expected.
