Five People Hospitalized after Two Vehicles Collide near Sierra Avenue
FONTANA, CA (March 21, 2019) – Five people suffered injuries early Thursday morning following a two-car collision on Sierra Lakes Parkway.
According to the Fontana Police Department, the incident happened near Sierra Avenue, shortly after midnight. A westbound white Honda Civic traveled at a high rate of speed and allegedly ran through a red light. There, it was broadsided by a northbound black 2019 Honda Civic that had a green light.
Firefighters and paramedics used the “Jaws of Life” to remove injured people from both cars. Four ambulances transported a total of five people to hospitals with injuries ranging from moderate to serious. Further updates on their medical conditions were not provided.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to cooperate with investigators as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
