88-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized after SUV Crashes into Goodwill Store near North Rose Drive
PLACENTIA, CA (October 9, 2018) – Five people were injured Tuesday afternoon following a rear-end crash on East Imperial Highway. The identities of the victims were not disclosed to the public.
According to officials with the Placentia Police Department, the incident took place at about 4:12 PM near North Rose Drive. A white Chevrolet Suburban slammed into the rear of a parked silver Chevrolet Yukon, pushing it into a Goodwill store.
The 88-year-old woman driving the Suburban suffered minor trauma and was transported to the UC Irvine Medical Center. She is expected to survive. A 14-year-old boy inside the Yukon, along with three women inside the store, received treatment for minor injuries at the scene.
A passenger inside the Suburban claimed that the driver was attempting to park when her foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas. An investigation is ongoing to verify the statement and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once available.
