SIMI VALLEY, CA (September 4, 2019) – Five people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash near Madera Road on September 3.
Responders transported four people to a local hospital while the fifth one declined hospitalization.
The incident occurred after 9:00 a.m. near Madera Road on westbound 118 Freeway. The schoolchildren rode a charter bus to a field trip en route the nearby Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
The incident involved three other vehicles aside from the bus. 43 people rode the four vehicles, including 33 minors and 7 adults on the bus. The 5th-grade students are students of Horizon Elementary School in Bakersfield.

The authorities are still investigating the pileup.
However, the westbound lanes of the 118 Freeway reopened.
