Police Chase Leads to Multi-Vehicle Crash on Dobson Road in Chandler 

Chandler, AZ (July 25, 2021) – Saturday night, five people sustained injuries when a police pursuit ended up in a multi-vehicle crash on Dobson Road.

The crash happened at 8 p.m. on July 24. 

Reportedly, Chandler police responded to a call from a homeowner near California and Chicago streets who reported a trespassing incident and indicated there was possible drug activity.

Police at the scene found the RV parked behind a driveway gate on the property and identified a 32-year-old Arnold Serrano.

Serrano then refused police orders and began moving around inside the RV. Moreover, he started the RV, crashed through the driveway gate, and accelerated toward an officer.  One of the officers then fired at Serrano and the RV.

He drove west on Frye Road at a high rate of speed and eventually caused a crash involving five vehicles at Dobson Road, and injuring five people including two with significant injuries.

Serrano also sustained injuries from the crash and gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he remained under police watch as of Sunday afternoon.

Further investigation into this shooting and subsequent crash is ongoing.
