Injuries Reported in Chula Vista 7-Vehicle Pileup Accident on East H Street near Paseo Del Rey

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (July 7, 2021) – Tuesday morning, five people suffered injuries in a DUI multi-vehicle crash on East H Street near Paseo Del Rey.
 
The incident happened at around 11:00 a.m. on East H Street near Paseo Del Rey. When the officers arrived, they found a 55-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man trapped in the wreckage. One of the vehicles landed on its side and caught fire, said Officer E. Christopher.
 
After rescuing the trapped victims, emergency crews transported them to a hospital. Also, they transported three other people from the other vehicles involved in the crash.
 
According to reports, some patients sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries such as internal trauma and broken bones.
 
The authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Christopher added that intoxication on the part of at least one driver was “believed to be a factor.”
 
Moreover, the crash shut down traffic lanes until shortly before 3:00 p.m., said Lt. Gino Grippo of the Chula Vista Police Department.
