Edwin Velez Arrested after Three-Vehicle Collision near Strathern Street

CANOGA PARK, CA (October 9, 2018) – Five people were hospitalized Tuesday morning following a DUI Crash on Owensmouth Avenue. The identities of the victims were not disclosed to the public.

According to officials with the Los Angeles Fire Department, three vehicles collided in the 8000 block of Owensmouth Avenue shortly before 8:00 AM. Events leading up to the crash were not immediately available.

A total of five parties suffered injuries as a result of the wreck. They were all transported to a nearby hospital, where their current medical conditions remain unknown. Meanwhile, one of the drivers, identified as 23-year-old Edwin Velez, was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify other possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
