Injuries Reported in Los Angeles Accident on Franklin Avenue and Western Avenue
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 19, 2022) – Monday morning, a police pursuit crash on Franklin Avenue and Western Avenue hurt five people.
The incident happened at around 1:15 a.m. on Franklin Avenue and Western Avenue.
As the LA police pursued a stolen Mercedes, it crashed into two other vehicles. One of them was an L.A. Department of Water and Power public utility truck.
Also, officers confirmed that the crash hurt five people. Meanwhile, the truck driver, an LADWP employee, was trapped and had to be cut out by L.A. Fire Department crews. He sustained only minor injuries.
“We have some massive damage to a very large truck, damage like that I rarely see on that size vehicle,” LAPD Meghan Aguilar revealed.
Responders transported the Mercedes driver and passenger. However, the passenger sustained critical injuries.
Initially, the Mercedes driver attempted to escape. However, officers chased and arrested him.
Moreover, the third car’s driver and passenger sustained minor injuries.
Also, authorities found a loaded gun was found in the Mercedes. At this time, the events that have led up to the crash remain unclear.
