Bellingham Rollover Collision Results in Injuries
Bellingham, WA (October 29, 2023) – Five people were transported to hospitals following an Interstate 5 DUI collision early morning Sunday.
The authorities responded at about 12:50 a.m. to the northbound lanes of the freeway, north of the Northwest Avenue.
WSP officers stated that a red 2005 Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling north on the freeway when it swerved to the left and struck the cable barrier in the median.
As a result, the vehicle rolled and rested in the northbound lanes.
An 18-year-old Bellingham woman was driving the Ford with 5 others, who were ages 15 through 18 years.
The responding medical team rushed 4 of the 6 occupants to PeaceHealth St Joseph’s Medical Center while a 15-year-old was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Officers said 1 of the occupants was not injured in the accident.
Moreover, 5 of the 6 occupants were wearing seatbelts while it was unknown if the 6th wore theirs when the collision happened.
Drugs and/or alcohol were believed to have played a role in this traffic incident. Officers are still investigating.
