Injuries Reported in Chico Auto Accident on Highway 32 near Meridian Road
CHICO, CA (December 1, 2021) – Tuesday night, five people suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 32 near Meridian Road.
The incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on Highway 32 near Meridian Road.
“We came out here and found two vehicles, one blocking highway 32 and the other off the side of the road. It sounds like excessive speed might have been an issue,” revealed Jason Morris, CAL FIRE Battalion Chief.
According to reports, both vehicles drove west on Highway 32. Then, the black vehicle rear-ended the white pickup truck. One person occupied the black vehicle. Meanwhile, four people occupied the white pickup truck. Responders took all five people to the hospital.
Moreover, the officials confirmed that no one is in critical condition. Also, they confirmed that one of the patients was a minor while the four others were adults.
“First I parked my truck and I got out. A lady came up to my door and asked if I had any towels and gloves. So I just started gathering what I had,” stated David Forster, Owner of Slyderz Grill.
“When it happened, I already saw the people helping out. So I got out of my car and made sure everyone got out safe and made sure that no one was severely injured,” revealed Rodolfo Barrera, Correction Officer.
Three ambulances and two fire engines responded to the scene. Furthermore, the crash led to the closure of the eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 32.
