1 Dead in El Cajon Single-Vehicle Crash on La Cresta Road

 
EL CAJON, CA (January 28, 2020) – A 46-year-old Santee male resident died in a single-vehicle crash on La Cresta Road on January 27.
 
According to reports, he hit his pickup truck off a winding rural road in a hilly neighborhood. He lost control of the eastbound 2016 Dodge Ram while driving at high speed on La Cresta Road in the Granite Hills area shortly before 9:00 a.m.
 
The Dodge then steered off the south side of the street just east of Forester Creek Road and became airborne. The vehicle then went down then embankment and struck a large boulder, CHP public affairs Officer Travis Garrow.
 
The driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His identity remains unreleased due to pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, it’s still unclear whether intoxication is a factor in the collision.
