46-Year-Old Jemmy Chavarria Dies in Hit-and-Run Collision on 84th Street [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (March 11, 2022) – On February 26, at about 7:15 p.m., 46-year-old Jemmy Chavarria was fatally struck on 84th Street.

Reports say that Chavarria was crossing the intersection of Hoover Street in a marked crosswalk with his wife and child.

Suddenly, a speeding southbound vehicle struck Chavarria.

“In his final moments, the victim pushed his wife out of harm’s way and tossed his baby in the air towards the sidewalk, saving their lives,” an officer said. “Unfortunately, the victim received a brunt of the impact from the suspect’s vehicle and succumbed to his injuries sustained from the collision.”
