44-year-old Man Killed in Apple Valley Crash on Bear Valley Road
APPLE VALLEY, CA (May 6, 2020) – On Monday night, a pedestrian accident killed a 44-year-old man on Bear Valley Road in Apple Valley.
According to reports, the Apple Valley Fire Department, AMR, and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies all responded to the scene in the 21500 block of Bear Valley Road at 8:37 p.m.
When the authorities arrived, they found a male lying on the road. They declared the man dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the male pedestrian was trying to walk across the road from south to north. He then stopped in the center divider.
Meanwhile, an eastbound vehicle on Bear Valley tried to make a left turn into the shopping center and hit the pedestrian.
The impact then forced the man into the no. 1 westbound lane where two other westbound vehicles hit him, Sgt. J. Marshall with the Apple Valley Police Department revealed.
The authorities later confirmed that all the drivers involved stopped and stayed at the scene. They have been cooperating with the investigation.
Some friends of the 44-year-old male victim said that the man resides just across the street. He was said to be trying to walk back home when the incident happened. At this time, the authorities are withholding his identity.
Due to the collision, the authorities shut down Bear Valley Road between Mohawk and Navajo Roads. Once additional information becomes available, the public will be updated.
