Officers Respond to Fatal Meridian Street Bicycle Crash
Bellingham, WA (September 24, 2021) – On Wednesday, a 44-year-old Bellingham man suffered fatal injuries in a bicycle crash on Meridian Street.
Officers responded to the crash at about 6:10 a.m. between McLeod Road and Birchwood Avenue.
When they arrived, found a car in the middle turn lane and a man on the ground nearby. Rescuers immediately began CPR on the male bicyclist.
Medics performed lifesaving measures on the victim, but he still died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the involved driver of a Saturn passenger car stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The authorities withheld the name of the deceased pending notification of family.
