Vehicle Crash on US 12 Results in Fatality
Thurston County, WA (October 20, 2021) – On Monday, a 42-year-old Rochester woman died in a vehicle crash on US 12.
The fatal crash happened at about 6:40 p.m. at Huntington Street.
The Rochester woman was westbound on US 12 between Rochester and Grand Mound.
At the same time, a 16-year-old female driver and her passenger were traveling in the same direction.
The Rochester woman slowed to make a left turn onto Huntington Street. However, she was struck by the 16-year-old.
The woman’s vehicle spun into the eastbound lane and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by a Rochester man.
Rescue team rushed the woman to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Moreover, the officers identified the cause of the accident was distracted driving.
The other drivers and a passenger were not injured in the traffic crash.
