1 Dead in Watsonville Pedestrian Accident on Beach Street
WATSONVILLE, CA (December 21, 2020) – Tuesday morning, a 42-year-old man died in a pedestrian crash on Beach Street in Watsonville, California.
According to Watsonville police, the incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. A vehicle struck a pedestrian pushing a cart of recyclables in the westbound lane in the 1400 block of Beach Street.
The driver involved, a 22-year-old, claimed that he did not see the pedestrian until it was too late. The driver remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.
Officers do not believe that drugs, alcohol, or phone use are factors to the crash.
