Construction Worker Dead in Redlands Accident on Garden Street and Franklin Avenue
REDLANDS, CA (November 19, 2020) – Tuesday afternoon, a crash on Garden Street and Franklin Avenue killed a 41-year-old man.
According to authorities, the crash happened at the worksite at the intersection of Garden Street and Franklin Avenue. A gravel-filled truck backed into the 41-year-old resident of San Bernardino working as a part of a construction crew contracted by the city for a road pavement project.
Authorities said that the man was standing at the blind spot of the truck at the time of the incident.
At around 1:30 p.m., paramedics arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene of the incident.
The incident is under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office investigation.
CHP is also investigating the incident since a commercial vehicle is involved.
The road repaving project is delayed until further notice, the city said.
