Man Dies in Interstate 5 Pedestrian Accident
Federal Way, WA (March 20, 2022) – On early Saturday morning, a 41-year-old-man was fatally struck on Interstate 5.
The fatal incident took place at around 3 a.m. at State Route 18, north of Federal Way.
Apparently, a Lyft driver had picked up the wrong passenger from Cheers Bar and Grill.
Minutes later, the passenger started acting unruly and started to take off his clothes.
Accordingly, the Lyft driver pulled over on the freeway’s right shoulder.
The passenger then got out of the rideshare vehicle and stood in the far left lane. Then, he walked into the adjacent lane.
At the same time, a northbound vehicle tried to avoid the man, however, the vehicle still struck the man and the rideshare vehicle.
Afterward, another northbound vehicle also stuck the man.
As a result, the pedestrian lost his life at the scene.
Meanwhile, troopers closed the roadway for over three hours while officers investigated the collision.
