Toddler Injured in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Saint Louis Road
Arcata, CA (February 03, 2022) – On January 22, 41-year-old Jennifer Garcia and her toddler sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident on Saint Louis Road.
The fatal accident took place at about 12:46 p.m. in the 3100 block area.
Report says that Garcia had enough time to push her son out of harm’s way and she took all the impact upon herself.
Upon arrival, responding officers found Garcia critically injured while the toddler was being treated by community members who witnessed the crash.
The paramedics treated the toddler for minor injuries and released him to his father at the scene.
Furthermore, the emergency rescuers rushed Garcia to an out of the area hospital where she died on January 30.
Moreover, the 29-year-old male driver from Arcata remained at the accident scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Meanwhile, the authorities do not suspect intoxication as factor in this accident.
