40-Year-Old Bicyclist Struck and Killed in Vehicle Crash on Rosecrans Avenue
Compton, CA (September 17, 2020) – On Wednesday, a 40-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed in a vehicle crash on Rosecrans Avenue.
California Highway Patrol Officer P. Trinidad said authorities responded to a crash west of Aprilia Avenue at about 11:15 PM. Upon arriving, they found a vehicle, bicycle, and an unresponsive man laying on the road.
A preliminary investigation confirmed the victim was riding his bike in a poorly lit area on Rosecrans Avenue. Just then, the driver of a 2008 Honda Element changed lanes and struck the rear of the bike.
Trinidad said the Compton Fire Department personnel pronounced the unidentified bicyclist dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, no arrests were reported in this incident.
With heavy hearts, we at Sweet Lawyers send our thoughts and prayers to the family and community of the victim.
What’s Next after a Fatal Crash
“Insurance companies will try to save money, even if it means not fully compensating a family for the wrongful death of a loved one. When a family retains an attorney immediately, it gives them time to grieve and heal, while their attorney works to build a strong case and hold the negligent party accountable,” says Tyler Toomey, a practicing attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
