1 Person Dead and Others Injured After 4-Vehicle Crash on US 93 in Wickenburg

Wickenburg, CA (May 30, 2024) – A four-vehicle crash on US 93 in northern Arizona on Thursday morning killed one person and seriously injured others. 

The accident led to the closure of US 93 near Wickenburg for several hours, though it has since reopened, according to ADOT.

The crash occurred around 7:40 a.m. at milepost 179 near Tres Alamos Road, northwest of Wickenburg. 

According to the Department of Public Safety, a northbound box truck reportedly crossed the center lane and collided head-on with a commercial vehicle. 

The box truck caught fire upon impact. Two other commercial vehicles were also involved in the crash, with one rolling over along with its trailer. 

First responders pronounced the driver of the box truck dead at the scene. The number of other injured individuals remains unknown.

The reason the box truck veered across the center line is still under investigation, and the driver’s identity has not been released.

Although the fire spread to nearby brush, local fire agencies managed to contain it, DPS reported.
