4 Hurt in Discovery Bay Auto Accident on Highway 4

DISCOVERY BAY, CA (August 11, 2020) – Early Sunday afternoon, four people suffered injuries in a T-bone crash on Highway 4.

The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters and California Highway Patrol officers came to the scene at 1:00 p.m. According to reports, the crash took place on Highway 4 and Discovery Bay Boulevard intersection.

Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a blue Toyota pickup truck and a silver Ford Mustang with visible damage. Moreover, after the preliminary investigation, firefighters determined that the truck traveled at around 65 mph before it hit a car making a turn onto the boulevard.

After receiving treatment at the scene, a medical helicopter transported them to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. Furthermore, two other people sustained minor injuries.

Due to the crash, the authorities shut down the westbound lanes of Highway 4. However, after the tow trucks cleared the damaged vehicles, the lanes reopened to traffic.

This accident can serve to show that small driving mistakes can lead to disastrous results. Thus, whenever you’re operating a car, pay attention, be alert, and follow all road signs and traffic lights.
