4 Hurt in Eureka Car Accident on Samoa Bridge
EUREKA, CA (October 20, 2020) – Monday afternoon, four people sustained injuries in a crash on Samoa Bridge and Highway 255.
According to Humboldt Bay Battalion Chief Chris Emmons, a Dodge truck and an SUV crashed head-on. The incident happened while both vehicles cross the Samoa Bridge at around 4:00 p.m.
Afterward, responders rushed four patients with moderate to major injuries to a hospital. Meanwhile, one of the victims possibly sustained two broken legs, the authorities revealed.
Furthermore, the crash closed both lanes of the road, but one lane is now open to traffic.
Due to the limited information available, the crash remains under active investigation.
If you feel yourself drifting into other lanes due to fatigue or any other reason, safely pull over and rest before continuing to drive. You can also call a friend or an Uber to pick you up if you feel like it would be unsafe to drive.
Ways to Deal with Car Accidents
Each year, around 20-50 million people are injured or become disabled due to an auto crash. To avoid suffering from such incidents, practice safe driving habits on the road at all times.
As a driver, it’s your responsibility to do it even when it is empty, even when there is no police officer around to make sure you make, say, a complete stop.
Even with the best driving habits, it is still important to know what to do if you find yourself in a motor vehicle accident
Steve Baric of Sweet Lawyers says, “The most valuable step you can take in response to a vehicle crash is hiring a personal injury attorney. Personal injury attorneys prioritize your recovery. At the same time, they will secure your future from further losses a severe accident can bring.”
