4 Hurt in Entiat Car Crash
ENTIAT, WA (January 8, 2020) – Four people sustained injuries in a car crash on Highway 97 on January 6.
According to reports, a driver lost control and went into an oncoming deputy’s patrol vehicle. The Ford Explorer traveled south on Highway 97, north of Entiat. When it lost control, it drove across the center line and crashed with a northbound Chelan County patrol vehicle about 7:00 a.m.
The Ford’s driver and two passengers sustained “potentially serious injuries” and was taken to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Meanwhile, the deputy sustained minor injuries and was also transported to the same hospital.
Authorities revealed that the factors that caused the crash are the winter weather and icy road conditions. The crash remains under investigation of the WSP. The troopers also shut down the road during investigation but have since reopened.
The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office is urging motorists to “exercise all precautions” when driving in winter weather conditions.
