Two CHP Officers Hospitalized after Two-Vehicle Crash on Yosemite Boulevard in Modesto

Modesto, CA (November 6, 2022) – Early Sunday morning, four people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Yosemite Boulevard and Albers/Geer roads.

The two-vehicle crash in Modesto happened at around 2:45 a.m. on November 6.

CHP said the collision involved a CHP 2017 Dodge Charger and a 2014 Dodge SUV.

Investigators said two California Highway Patrol officers, approached the Albers/Geer intersection, with lights and sirens on because the officers were responding to a traffic collision.

Then the 2014 Dodge SUV, was southbound on Albers, and both vehicles entered the intersection at the same time. The front of the SUV struck the right side of the CHP vehicle. 

The impact sent the Charger southwest into a power pole, where it came to rest.

As a result, EMS took the two CHP officers to Doctors Medical Center with minor lacerations and complaints of pain.

Moreover, the two occupants of the SUV, identified as Rosario Guadalupe Velarde Requena, 50, of Ceres, and her passenger Gerardo Duran-Escatel, 51 of Modesto, were also taken to Doctors Medical Center with complaints of pain.

All four people involved were wearing their safety belts.

Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
