Four Hospitalized after SUV Runs Red Light near Ted Williams Parkway
CARMEL MOUNTAIN, CA (November 15, 2018) – Four people were injured Thursday evening following a two-vehicle crash on Highland Ranch Road. The identities of the victims were not immediately disclosed to the public.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened at about 7:30 PM. A 2018 Toyota Corolla was heading east on Ted Williams Parkway when it attempted to make a left turn onto Highland Ranch Road. There, it was struck by a westbound 2012 Hyundai Veracruz SUV that ran a red light.
A 55-year-old passenger in the Hyundai was rushed to a local hospital with major internal injuries. A second passenger suffered cuts and was transported to a hospital for evaluation. The 27-year-old Toyota driver sustained minor injuries, and his passenger received treatment for a broken arm. Updates on their current medical conditions were not available.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
