POINT MUGU, CA (July 12, 2018) – Four people were injured early Thursday evening following a two-vehicle collision on Pacific Coast Highway.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place shortly after 5:30 PM along southbound Pacific Coast Highway, about half a mile south of Mugu Rock. A Toyota Corolla, driven by a 24-year-old Oxnard man, was northbound when it went out of control and drifted into a barrier alongside the roadway.

The Corolla then entered the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a Mini Cooper, driven by a 40-year-old Malibu woman.

The impact of the collision caused the Mini Cooper to roll over several times and the Corolla to plunge 50 feet into the water. Two Corolla passengers were ejected from the vehicle and sustained moderate to major injuries. They were transported to the Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks for treatment and evaluation. The driver of the Mini Cooper was hospitalized with minor injuries, while a third Corolla passenger was reportedly unharmed.
