Four Hospitalized after Crash on Mahoney Road in Santa Maria
Santa Maria, CA (July 8, 2022) – Early Friday morning, four people sustained injuries in a tanker truck crash on Mahoney Road.
The crash in Santa Maria happened at around 5:58 a.m. on July 8, approximately one-and-a-half miles west of the Santa Maria Airport.
CHP said the collision involved a fuel truck and the Dodge Neon, which sustained major front-end damage and needed to be towed.
Investigators said a tanker was traveling southbound on Black Road, north of Mahoney Road, with the Dodge Neon following behind.
When the truck made a right-hand turn onto a dirt road the Dodge Neon was unable to slow down and broadsided the truck.
EMS transported four people in the Dodge Neon, including the female driver to Marian Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
Moreover, the truck driver did not sustain any injuries.
Further investigation into this crash is underway.
