Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 50 Sends 4 People to Hospital
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 14, 2019) – A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 50 left four people injured Monday morning.
The CHP Woodland office said the crash involved four vehicles. The initial collision happened at around 8:37 a.m. A 2003 Ford in the fast lane of westbound Highway 50 rear-ended a silver Toyota that was stopped due to traffic near Harbor Boulevard. The Toyota subsequently collided with two other vehicles.
A 50-year-old Sacramento man who was driving the Toyota sustained major injuries. Paramedics took him to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.
Transported also to the hospital was the Ford driver with minor injuries. The same with the driver and a passenger in one of the other two vehicles. The driver of the fourth vehicle did not sustain injuries.
No arrests were made in connection with the accident. The investigators said drugs or alcohol did not play a role. Further investigation is ongoing.
