Four Hospitalized in Multi-Car Crash in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (February 22, 2019) – On Friday evening, four people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Franklin Boulevard. The identities of the victims have not been released to the public at this time.
 
According to the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 5:00 PM near Fruitridge Road.
 
As per reports, a white SUV driven by a 21-year old male fled a traffic stop after he struck a car. The SUV did not stop and a short pursuit followed, ending when the SUV crashed into another vehicle. Due to the impact, multiple other vehicles were involved in the collision.
 
Sacramento Fire Department arrived at the scene, they stated four people including the suspect, were transported to a nearby hospital. One of the occupants had to be extricated from their vehicle. Their current medical condition is unknown at this time.
 
Authorities stated the suspect fled on foot. Soon after, a patrol officer pursued and caught him. The suspect was taken into custody.
 
Due to the multi-vehicle collision on Franklin Boulevard, the intersection was closed following the crash for the cleanup and preliminary investigation. The boulevard was closed off for more than an hour. The road has since reopened at 7:00 PM. No further details have been released regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time.
