One Hospitalized after Four-Vehicle Crash on West Vanowen Street in Lake Balboa

Lake Balboa, CA (August 4, 2022) – Thursday night, four people sustained injuries including one in critical condition in a four-vehicle crash on West Vanowen Street.

The four-vehicle incident in Lake Balboa happened just after 11 p.m. on August 4 in the 17700 block of West Vanowen Street.

A video showed an SUV plowed through a fence and rolled over after the driver lost control.

The SUV apparently sheared a utility pole, hit a business, and struck several other vehicles.

Moreover, witnesses said a vehicle was traveling at about 100 MPH at the time of the crash. 

On the other hand, authorities did not confirm yet whether the SUV was speeding.

As a result, the SUV driver was trapped inside the vehicle. EMS transported the unidentified driver to a hospital in critical condition.

The Fire Department said three other patients were treated at the scene but declined transport.

Further investigation to determine the cause of the crash is underway.
