1 Adult and 3 Children Hospitalized after Police Chase Crash near Normandie Avenue
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 23, 2018) – Four people were injured Tuesday afternoon following a hit-and-run crash on West 59th Place near Normandie Avenue.
According to officials with the Los Angeles Fire Department, LAPD officers pulled over a vehicle shortly before 2:00 PM. The suspect, who was armed with a gun, jumped out and fled the area on foot. Officers soon noticed that he was picked up by another vehicle.
The vehicle sped off until it struck a small Mazda SUV in the 1300 block of West 59th Place. Four people – the Mazda driver and her three young passengers – suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Updates on their current medical conditions were not immediately available.
Three people were taken into custody, but a search is still ongoing to look for more possible suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact the authorities as soon as possible. Additional information will be released following the conclusion of the investigation.
