Injuries Reported in Santa Barbara County Auto Accident on Highway 101 at Gaviota
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (November 2, 2022) – Tuesday night, four people suffered injuries in a crash on Highway 101 at Gaviota.
The incident occurred at 7:40 p.m. on northbound Highway 101 at Gaviota, just north of the tunnel.
According to reports, responders extricated one person from the wreckage. Eventually, they freed three more people.
Two children were in critical condition, a woman with major injuries and a man with minor injuries.
Also, reports said that the Nissan Frontier went 25 to 30 feet off the roadway and ended up on boulders in the creek
Moreover, responders took the children to Santa Ynez Cottage Hospital. Meanwhile, they transported the woman to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
The man didn’t require any hospitalization.
Also, officers noted that visibility in the area was poor.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
