One Airlifted after Car Crash in Piru
PIRU, CA (March 2, 2019) – On Saturday afternoon, four people were injured in a car collision involving two vehicles on Highway 126.
According to the CHP, the accident happened around 2:00 PM just east of Center Street. In addition, the identities of the victims have not been released to the public.
As per reports, two vehicles were involved in the crash. A black pickup truck ended up in a ditch and a white sedan was on the roadway. The cause of the accident is currently unknown.
Ventura County Fire Department arrived at the scene shortly after. Firefighters extricated a victim from one of the vehicles. Soon after, the victim was airlifted to Ventura County Medical Center with significant injuries.
Three other occupants also suffered injuries. However, their current medical condition is unknown at this time.
Due to the car collision on Highway 126, the surrounding area was closed off for a brief time. Authorities stated it reopened at about 3:10 PM. No further details have been disclosed to the public as the investigation continues.
