Three Hospitalized after Car Collision in Santa Barbara
SANTA BARBARA, CA (March 14, 2019) – On Thursday morning, a car accident on Chapala Street injured four people in Santa Barbara.
According to the Santa Barbara Police Department, the crash happened around 11:00 AM near Quinto Street.
Police stated a Honda Civic was driving northbound on Chapala when it collided with a Toyota RAV4 that was eastbound on Quinto. As a result, the SUV came to a rest on its side up against a utility pole.
Santa Barbara Fire Department had to extricate three people from the RAV4. Two occupants from the SUV and the driver of the Civic arrived at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment. Their current medical condition is unclear at this time.
However, authorities stated speeding might have been a contributing factor in the collision.
The street closed following the car accident on Chapala Street for the cleanup and a preliminary investigation. Eventually, the surrounding area reopened. There are no further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time.
