Injuries Reported in Santa Maria Auto Accident near Telephone Road and E Clark Avenue
SANTA MARIA, CA (August 18, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, 4 people were hospitalized after a semi-truck crash near Telephone Road.
The incident involving a semi-truck and a car happened at about 4:00 p.m. near Telephone Road and E Clark Avenue.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reported that firefighters had to extricate a male from the vehicle following the incident. Both he and another individual sustained serious injuries, while two others involved experienced minor to moderate injuries.
Authorities noted that the semi-truck was transporting 150 barrels of crude oil, but fortunately, the container remained intact.
The area is currently experiencing heavy traffic, and the CHP is advising drivers to take alternative routes.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
