4 Injured in Phoenix Multi-Vehicle Accident
PHOENIX, AZ (October 2, 2019) – Four people sustained injuries in a wrong-way multi-vehicle accident on 17 Freeway on September 30.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), a northbound vehicle traveled within the southbound lanes of 17 Freeway just after 9:30 p.m. The driver then crashed with three other vehicles near the Thomas Road exit ramp.
Responders transported the wrong-way driver to the hospital. In addition, they also took three other people to the hospital. Unfortunately, their conditions are still unknown as of this time.
The incident led authorities to require motorists to exit on Indian School Road. The area remained unavailable for multiple hours during the investigation. By 2:00 a.m., the roads have since reopened.
