4 People Injured After Chain-Reaction Collision on Southbound State Highway 1

Watsonville, CA (July 5, 2020) – On Friday, 4 people were injured in a multi-car crash on southbound state Highway 1.

The accident involving multiple vehicles happened at around 1 p.m. just south of Harkins Slough.

A truck pulling a broken disc harrow sparked a fire and came to an emergency stop. As usual, the three cars behind it also stopped. But a van behind the cars failed to stop.

As a result, the van crashed into the car in front of it and caused a chain reaction.

The drivers of the three cars and the van were hospitalized. Two of them suffered major injuries, while the other two sustained moderate injuries from the crash.

Drugs nor alcohol were not a factor in the incident.

Always be a defensive driver. Remember that we share the same road with other drivers.

Who to Turn to Incase of Crash Injuries

Roadways, while scrupulously created and mapped for efficient travel, are still one of the most dangerous settings. Common events on the road can just as swiftly become safety hazards.

Mark Sweet, a personal injury attorney at Sweet Lawyers, says that serious car accident cases may call for a separate investigation spearheaded by an experienced lawyer. A lawyer will fight on behalf of the injured party, and make sure victims are not cheated from the proper compensation they are owed. “We have the ability to secure evidence in your favor, request additional information, get vital eyewitness accounts, and review insurance coverage you are entitled to that may not be common knowledge. Having an experienced attorney fighting on your behalf at such a delicate time in your life will make all the difference.”
