Fatal Motorcycle Crash on 80 Freeway in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, CA (October 22, 2019) – A 38-year-old Los Angeles man died in a motorcycle crash early Tuesday morning in Sacramento.
The deadly crash happened around 4:20 a.m. on 80 Freeway at Madison Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was riding his motorcycle when for unknown reasons, he hit the back of a Ford Fusion.
The man and his bike slid on the roadway and came to a rest directly into the path of a big rig. The driver of the big rig was unable to avoid hitting the motorcyclist, CHP said.
As a result, the motorcyclist died at the scene, authorities said. His name has not yet been released pending notification of his family members.
The drivers of the big rig and Fusion were not injured and remained on scene after the crash.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
