OXNARD, CA (July 31, 2022) – Friday night, a 38-year-old man died in a pedestrian crash on Wooley Road near Mercantile Street.
 
The incident happened at about 8:40 p.m. in an industrial area where there is no crosswalk or other traffic controls. Moreover, the pedestrian from Oxnard had been walking northbound across Wooley near the intersection with Mercantile Street.
 
Meanwhile, a 43-year-old Oxnard man drove a 2011 Dodge Durango SUV westbound on Wooley. Then, he struck the pedestrian.
 
When the authorities arrived, they found the pedestrian on the road with severe injuries. Then, responders took him via ambulance to a hospital. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
His identity remains undisclosed due to pending family notification.
