Deadly Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 101 in Smith River
SMITH RIVER, CA (January 2, 2020) – A 37-year-old Roseburg man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Thursday evening in Smith River.
The crash happened around 9:32 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 at Timber Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was walking southbound on the shoulder of the highway when a vehicle struck him.
Arriving paramedics rushed the man to hospital, where the victim succumbed to his injuries.
The vehicle reportedly left the scene, continuing southbound.
No identifying information is being released at this time. This fatal incident is still under investigation.
