Car Crashes into Parked Semi Truck on Marsh Drive Killing the Driver
PACHECO, CA (December 9, 2019) – A 35-year-old Walnut Creek man died after his car crashed into a parked semi truck Monday evening in Pacheco.
The crash happened around 10:15 p.m. on Marsh Drive, just south of Sally Ride Drive near Buchanan Field.
According to the CHP, a gray 2011 Suzuki SX4 was heading north on Marsh Drive approaching the rear of a 2014 Freight-liner truck with a trailer, which was parked along the east curb.
For unknown reasons, the Suzuki veered to the right of the roadway and smashed head-on into the rear of the trailer, the CHP said. Nobody was inside the truck when the crash occurred.
As a result, the Suzuki driver died at the scene. Authorities did not immediately identify the victim, pending notification of his relatives.
Witnesses and clues gathered from the scene indicated the Suzuki may have been speeding.
Toxicology results will indicate whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. The CHP encouraged other witnesses to call the Walnut Creek office at 925-646-4980.
We hope the family and friends of the deceased are surrounded by steadfast and comforting support as they grieve for the loss of their loved one.
