34-Year-Old Chico Man Dead in Interstate 5 Pedestrian Crash [Avenal, CA]

AVENAL, CA (March 1, 2022) – Monday morning, a 34-year-old Chico man died and a driver sustained injuries in an Interstate 5 pedestrian crash.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident started at around 12:45 a.m. According to reports, an SUV traveling the wrong way collided head-on with a southbound Subaru.
 
Moreover, reports revealed that the SUV driver fled the scene on foot after the crash. Then, officers attempted to stop the man walking northbound on Interstate 5. However, an oncoming car struck the man who ran into the traffic.
