Woman Hospitalized after Hit-And-Run Crash on Columbia Street in San Diego

San Diego, CA (April 13, 2023) – Early Thursday morning, a 32-year-old woman was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on Columbia Street and West Hawthorn Street.

The crash on Columbia Street in San Diego happened shortly before 6:20 a.m. on April 13.

San Diego Police said the pedestrian was injured as she walked west in a crosswalk at the intersection of Columbia and West Hawthorn streets.

Investigators said the victim was hit by a gray Nissan Frontier pickup, which was making a left turn from Hawthorn to Columbia. The driver — believed to be a man — immediately fled after the collision. 

EMS transported the woman to a hospital. She was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Moreover, officers said she was a nurse who had come home after a night shift at a hospital.
