32-Year-Old Man Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash on Columbus Street [Bakersfield, CA]

Bakersfield Fatal Collision Under Investigation

Bakersfield, CA (February 23, 2024) – A 32-year-old man lost his life following a hit-and-run crash on Columbus Street Wednesday night.

It was about 9:29 p.m. when the deadly collision happened in the 2500 block area.

Officers said a man walking northbound in an unmarked crosswalk was fatally hit by an eastbound dark sedan.

The pedestrian incurred severe injuries and died while the sedan driver drove fled before the authorities arrived.

Troopers are still investigating if speed or impairment played a role in this fatal accident.
