Woman Hospitalized after Jumping Off Scooter near 20th Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 22, 2018) – A woman was injured Monday morning following an electric scooter crash on Broadway. The identity of the 31-year-old victim was not disclosed to the public.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident took place at about 6:45 AM near 20th Street in Golden Hill. The woman was headed west on Broadway when the scooter began gaining speed as the street sloped down. She became frightened and later jumped off the scooter.
The victim suffered a fractured right femur and was transported to a hospital for treatment and medical evaluation. Updates on her current medical condition were not immediately available to the public.
It was unclear if a mechanical problem with the scooter might have played a role in the crash. An investigation is ongoing to identify other possible contributing factors in the accident. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
