Fatal Tulare County Car Accident on Avenue 256
TULARE COUNTY, CA (May 12, 2020) – Early Monday morning, three 21-year-old women died in a car crash on Avenue 256 near Exeter.
California Highway Patrol received a 911 call about a collision on Avenue 256 near Highway 65, around 1:20 a.m. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.
The preliminary investigation conducted by CHP detectives revealed that the driver was traveling west on Avenue 256. However, the driver failed to stop at the stop sign at Highway 65.
When the vehicle entered the intersection, the driver accelerated and made a right turn. As a result, the vehicle went off the road until it rammed through an olive orchard.
As the vehicle crashed into the trees, the three occupants of the car suffered fatal injuries. The driver was thrown out of the vehicle while the right front passenger was partially ejected.
California Highway Patrol suspects that alcohol played a role in the fatal crash. Moreover, authorities remained at the scene for several hours to investigate. However, they later reopened the road around 5:00 a.m.
At this time, police did not release the identity of the three deceased women.
Our deepest sympathies are extended to the family and friends of the deceased women.
