Colby Ralton Hospitalized After Crash on Stratford Road in Grant County

Grant County, WA (August 21, 2024) – On Tuesday morning, 29-year-old Colby Ralton sustained injuries in a three-vehicle crash on Stratford Road. 

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on Stratford Road when a car driven by 60-year-old Martha McDonald of Moses Lake rear-ended an SUV driven by 43-year-old Jose Rivera, also of Moses Lake.

The collision propelled Rivera’s vehicle nearly 300 feet, while McDonald’s car went into a counterclockwise spin before being struck by a motorcycle driven by 29-year-old Colby Ralton. 

Ralton was thrown from his motorcycle and transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, though his current medical condition is unknown. 

Rivera and McDonald declined treatment at the scene.

McDonald received a citation for following too closely, while Ralton was issued a criminal citation for driving with a suspended license, lacking a motorcycle endorsement, failure to have a required ignition interlock, and following too closely. 

The Sheriff’s Office’s Motor Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the accident.
