According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the multi-vehicle collision happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 near Valley View.

Reports say that a FedEx tractor-trailer driver died in a multi-vehicle crash and subsequent fuel spill in Cooke County on Friday morning.

DPS says that the collision involved at least three vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, a rock hauler, and a passenger vehicle.

The crash resulted in the closure of the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 near Valley View.

Authorities confirmed the fatality of the FedEx tractor-trailer driver, while no other injuries were reported.

Officials have not yet determined the cause of the crash.

The Texas Department of Transportation noted that the incident, which occurred near Hockley Creek Road, initially closed traffic in both directions, but southbound lanes reopened by mid-morning. Before the northbound lanes could reopen, a significant cleanup effort was required to remove fuel and oil.

All lanes were cleared for traffic before rush hour on Friday.
